It’s March! Beth Buelow will be with us to open our exploration of C3’s value of Open Inquiry with her teaching Never place a period where The Universe has placed a question mark. Beth has been part of the C3 Community since March 2018 and has loved every minute of it. She’s a business owner; leadership, team, and mentor coach; author, speaker, and mediator, and she’s busy adding photographer to the list of ways she wants to be known in the world.

We hope as many of you as are able will join us for a special edition of Talk Back immediately following the Gathering. The focus will be a discussion of the Just Cause process the board has been engaged in, and getting your valuable input on how C3 moves into the future.

Jen Sygit comes from Lansing to sing and play for us this week. She is a longtime friend of C3, a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter with four solo albums, and a prodigious body of vocals and instrumental work on other musicians’ albums. She also performs with the all-female string band Stella!and hosts a weekly radio show.

Seeking Person for Volunteer Data Administrative Role—A Request from Ellie Williams

Ellie writes: I enjoy the following tasks that I do for C3, especially anything to do with the data. BUT, I am soon going to be 86!

  • Membership Data Maintenance (via Wild Apricot website) It would be prudent for C3 to have another person who likes the data/digital world to step in and assume the task of Membership Data maintenance. It probably should be someone who is active and knows the community.

Any of the following tasks could/should be taken on by another C3 member:

  • Community Care & Concern: act as contact person, sharing news, needs, and response.
  • Coordinate Welcoming Host Teams: schedule the teams, notify the teams weekly, find subs as necessary.

Contact Ellie for more information: elliewilliams4 [at] gmail [dot] com

News from the Board

The board continues to assess our COVID response, and part of that is our mask policy. We are considering having masks be optional later in March. If anyone in the community has questions or concerns about this possible change, please talk to a board member. Also, please note that C3 Board of Trustees will now meet the second Wednesday of the month, instead of the third.

C3 Kids Visit Pound Buddies

This past Saturday the C3 Kids got to see their fundraising event come to life by taking their donation to Pound Buddies! They gave their donation to the shelter’s treasurer, and in return she gave the group a lovely tour of their new facility. The kids got to see bunnies, cats, and dogs; the building offices, adoption rooms, and “Re-tail” store; and also the many different rooms where the animals live, play, and get trained. It was a wonderful opportunity for the kids to see exactly what all their hard work and effort was for!

Kent Dobson has been the lead teacher at C3 since 2017. He’s also in the guide-in-training program at Animas Valley Institute in Colorado, an organization specializing in wilderness intensives.

Matt Gabriel is a singer/songwriter who has spent over a decade writing and performing music around the country–the quality of folk and blues you would expect from an artist who grew up between Chicago and Detroit. He’s got a must-see live show and a very approachable recorded sound. His latest release is entitled Matt Gabriel Live at Meijer Gardens.
