SUMMARY:Sunday Gathering: Let the Music Heal Your Soul
DESCRIPTION:For millennia\, Indigenous communities around the world have used drumming\, chanting\, and song in ceremonies of healing\, mourning\, and communal connection. Music has always held the potential to be more than mere entertainment. A familiar song can coax memory from someone living with dementia\, help a child recovering from brain injury practice communication\, or offer comfort to a person living with complex trauma. Crystal singing bowls create sound baths intended to help regulate the nervous system and reduce stress. In psychedelic-assisted therapy\, music is an essential part of guiding the experience. \nIn our final week of Summer of Sound\, we’re exploring music as a healing modality. We’ll look at what the science suggests\, how therapists and medical practitioners are using music\, and how we can use songs and sounds to help regulate our own nervous systems and cultivate greater peace\, empathy\, and well-being. \nMusic: Ruth and Max Bloomquist               Meditation: David Dean \n\nUnable to Attend? – You can catch the gathering Live on our Facebook beginning at 10am and view our speaker and meditation recordings later on our Youtube Page
