Sunday’s Program and Reading
Sunday, October 27, 2024 What the World Needs Now: Play
. . . . . . .
Core Teacher: Beth Buelow (she/her) has been part of the C3 Community since March 2018 and has loved every minute of it. She’s a business owner; leadership, team, and mentor coach; author, speaker, and mediator, and she has added photographer to the list of ways she wants to be known in the world.
Musicians: Stanley & Quiggle (Owen & Jamie, he/him for both) are an indiefolk duo from Big Rapids, who were connected by music in their late high school years and paired up to embark on this journey. With their vocals and a variety of instruments, they create an atmosphere filled with strong emotion and wonder. Having the rest of their lives to make music, the two hope to make an impact and have stories to tell along the way.

Play is the mediator of the invisible and visible.
– Dora M. Kalff, Jungian therapist
The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct.
– Carl Jung
Ritual grew up in sacred play; poetry was born in play and nourished on play; music and dancing were pure play…. We have to conclude, therefore, that civilization is, in its earliest phases, played. It does not come from play…it arises in and as play, and never leaves it. – Johan Huizinga, Dutch historian
Play is training for the unexpected.
– Marc Bekoff, American biologist
